ARE YOU SOMEONE OR DO YOU KNOW SOMEONE WHO…
Then the RCIA (Rite for Christian Initiation for Adults) might be for you!
The Catholic Church has a process called the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) that calls adults (and children of catechetical age) to a conversion of mind and heart and that prepares them for a full and active life in the Church as disciples of Jesus. This ritual process is spread out over a period of time – in many cases a year or more – to help the individual to become a mature and involved Catholic Christian. The RCIA takes place within the context of a parish community.
The RCIA program at St. Peter the Apostle runs year-round, which means you can join in at any time. The length of time required is determined on a case-by-case basis, and depends on the individual’s situation, readiness and previous formation. The RCIA coordinators (in consultation with the pastor) will work with each individual in coming up with a plan of formation for them.
ONLINE SESSIONS
One of the key aspects of this formation, in addition to attending Sunday Mass, will be participating in our group sessions. Our sessions are currently held online (through ZOOM) every Wednesday evening, 7:00pm – 8:30pm.
We offer an opportunity to meet live-online with a small group to learn more about our faith. Sessions focus on the teachings and experience of Church and prepare individuals to celebrate the Sacraments of Initiation (Baptism, Eucharist, and Confirmation).
You are welcome to participate in the process with your questions, your insights and your faith story in a warm accepting setting.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME: If you are curious about what the Catholic Church teaches, Come and See!
The initial period of inquiry is open to everyone and is open-ended. No commitment is required during inquiry.
Our RCIA program was featured on the Diocesan website. Read more about it here.
Sessions are ongoing and meet every Wednesday evening at 7:00pm.
